Server updates

Greetings everyone! We have been making lots of updates, you may of noticed the site freaking out a bit since the weekend, rest assured everything will be back to normal soon please bare with us we are making some important new updates. Login should work again now so if you want to upload tracks feel free to try. Posting in certain areas of the site may fail, although the reviews seem to be ok for the most part! :) More testing is underway, you may of noticed there are lots of brand new links like artist pages no longer need to be called with userid=no but rather /artist/yourname which is way cooler. The categories on music work much better now as a result with sections having more relevant links.  BeatBiz is going OOP too! We are converting sections of the site over to a new coding standardthat willl improve performance of the site.

New Sign up and other stuff

hello peeps, just to let you know we have updated the unrulely uploading functions once again for another go at glory which should improve reliability with extensive uploading of music and images with weird characters in the filenames and such. We have also updated the signup pages too so that you can upload dozens of images when you first sign up, well that probably doesn't really apply to you if you're already a member, but if your visiting for the first time and reading this you should try it.  Also worth checking out are the new featured instrumental rock music from Ash Mandri and stomping dark psytrance from Sin Citzen "Hall's effect", these guys are rocking the beatbiz main stage and producing some very unique original and talentful pieces of sonic art. Meanwhile we heard from Simon Cowell he said he would like to appear on BeatBiz but we dion't have time instead we do have time for some great new musics from our new acts signing up for beatbiz which are definitely worth checkin out. Hail!

Budding website grows, reaching over 3000 users

Artists take note. The website is continuing to grow, although not anywhere near to a massive megalopolis of a community we now have reached 2657 users and 530 artists, so we're like a nice little town of music. Generally the amount of growth has been at a constant rate. Also, we now have a groovy search option on the homepage. Down on the farm there's something going on.. Cow's go moo, pig's go oink and beatbiz goes neeeh. :D

Pakistan And Greece Rocking BeatBiz

We've had some great new music uploaded from artists in Pakistan and Greece bringing them up into the top 5 countries on BeatBiz. I think it would be really cool one day to have a massive event of live music where we get artists from all over the world to come and play. I think it would be awesome, perhaps in a few years we might be able to organise and fund such an event. This is one thing i love about music, as it's almost like a universal language (especially when it has no lyrics!) so you don't need to be from anywhere in particular to understand it. It should even translate across the universe and on different planets, as the raw physical harmonic laws of music are the same where ever you are in the universe, but depending on the scale of the lifeforms I guess you would need to change the speed and pitch (so long as the aliens have ears and can detect soundwaves)!! :D . It's very nice to see interest from all parts of the world, music has the power to bring us together, remember this. Keep up the great work everyone!

Wicked new music on site!

Not much happening in terms of site developments, although there have been numerous minor bug fixes and tweaks bringing up the overall functionality of the site in the last couple of months. If anyone finds any bugs please let us know!

But we have had many new tracks uploaded from the community over the last few months which we have very much enjoyed listening them, some very good work appearing in various styles of psytrance, breaks and even some alternative stuff which is very good to see and hear, so keep up the great work everyone! :) If anyone feels they could do with a full account but do not have the money to subscribe please get intouch with support and get them to check out your page. Chances are if they like it they will grant you a free account!

It would be nice to see some more albums on sale, mostly it's infinite dimensions work which is nice but some more variety would be welcomed. Also, there is a new forum but there haven't been many posts yet. You can login to the forum with your band/artist name and regular beatbiz password, as we have integrated phpbb3 with our current user data. Any new signups automatically get added to the forum too so you should be able to login immediately. If you get a chance, please stop by the forum and make a few posts. :)

 

New Uploader!!

Important news! We have a new uploader! Finally using the power of Flash, a group of elite boffins came up with a great new program called SWFUpload and distributed it for free, which gives up a fabulous new progress meter and with super special background posting so you can write in your details of the track as it uploads. How wonderful. Also the image uploader now supports multiple file selections properly, so you can easily go into a directory and select multiple files either with a click and drag or highlighting them individually. So potentially you could queue up to 100 images with just two or three mouse clicks! All very cool. It also seems large files get parsed to the server better although the limit is still 100mb for mp3 files you may be able to get larger audio files on the server and are welcome to try. Additionally if a file is too large to begin with you wont have to upload it to find out either (although sensible people check out the files properties to get the size).

 

Well, we hope you all like the new uploader, it's still a beta version and have had a few issues with it in firefox, but most of the time it works. If your browser doesn't like it try Internet Explorer or a different one to the one you are using until the stable version of the SWFupload is released.

 

One thing to note though is the lofi file selection has gone from the main uploader, although it should be returning soon. For now you will need to go into the mp3 editor and choose 'upload lofi stream' instead.
